Differences: Going to Sleep

Scott and I are a perfect match..., but that doesn't mean we're perfect, and that doesn't mean we're the same!

Every night this is absolutely proved when we go to bed. Our usual "routine", if you can even call it that:

  • He has to be cool; I need to be warm!
  • One sheet is just fine; I'll take as many blankets as possible!
  • His feet can touch me, my feet can touch him, but no way can our feet touch each other!
I can be falling asleep in the living room, but walking to the bed wakes me right up. Somehow he can go to sleep as soon as his head touches the pillow.

Sam: intriguing topic
Scott: audible response
Sam: intriguing topic
Scott: audible mumble
Sam: "You're already asleep, aren't you?"
Scott: "hmm..."
Sam: "I'm going to cut you in your sleep."
Scott: "hmm..."
Sam: "Blast. Fine..."
I don't know how he does it, then I'm left there, eyes wide open, waiting for sleep. Doesn't he know you're supposed to think about the wonders of life when you're lying in bed before sleep?
As a conclusion I'll share that I never had a feeling either way about the "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" saying you see most commonly on wall stickers and blocks of wood, but now, as a wife, I understand. Whether it's love or OCD or both, I would feel just terrible if I didn't have that goodnight kiss. *kiss* Love you, goodnight!

"[Love] bears all things, hopes all things, believes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
